Remote Learning

At St Claudine’s we believe that excellent attendance is essential to our students getting the most from their school experience. Excellent attendance supports student’s attainment, wellbeing and wider life chances. However, our Remote Learning plan covers circumstances where in-person attendance at school is either not possible or contrary to government guidance. Remote education is not an equal alternative to attendance in school.

Remote education may be considered when:

• School closures are directed by the government
• Individual students cannot attend because they are recovering from short- term infectious illnesses, preparing for or recovering from some operations and/or recovering from injuries where attendance might inhibit recovery

Any unplanned closure of the school will communicated to parents via text, email and on the school website. Further updates will also be shared this way. In the event of an unplanned school closure students will be set online learning via their Google Classroom accounts. A link to Google Classroom can be found on the school website. When an individual student is unable to attend school, work will be set for them on Google Classroom.
